We are seeking a Principal Transport Planner focused on Development Planning to join our Transport Planning team and help lead the growth and development of our business across the UK. This role offers the opportunity to work on a varied workload primarily for Public Sector clients through substantial frameworks such as the Midlands Highways Alliance, OneTrafford Partnership, Transport Scotland, Department for Infrastructure (NI), Transport Infrastructure Ireland, and the Government of The Bahamas.

As a Principal Transport Planner, you will report to your Regional Lead and collaborate closely with Practice and Regional Leads as well as other Principal Transport Planners. You will provide leadership to a dynamic team, engage with clients and stakeholders, and deliver innovative, sustainable transport planning solutions. Your strategic vision and technical expertise will be key in shaping the future of transportation infrastructure. Responsibilities include leadership, business development, technical expertise, project delivery, team development, and driving innovation within the team.

Experience
Proven track record in transport planning, ideally within a large consultancy environment delivering for Public Sector clients.

About you
Demonstrated leadership ability to manage technical teams and work across multi-disciplinary environments. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong technical knowledge in Transport Assessments, Development Control, travel plans, Active Travel, and early-stage design. Proficient in software such as LinSig, TRL Junctions, Vissim, Paramics, SATURN, Visum, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications
Relevant degree required, ideally with a Masters degree. Chartered status is preferred.
