Join our UK Environment Practice, a vibrant network of approximately 620 professionals delivering world-class consultancy and advisory services. You will work collaboratively with a range of technical specialists on diverse projects, spearheading and coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and related deliverables. This role involves close client engagement, business development, and mentoring colleagues. Key clients include Network Rail, the Environment Agency, National Highways, Anglian Water, Yorkshire Water, Homes England, and various local authorities. Your responsibilities will include leading the coordination and delivery of environmental work by multi-disciplinary teams, including EIA, options appraisals, and environmental management. You will line manage a team of environmental professionals, champion high standards of environmental performance within multidisciplinary engineering projects, influence project development, and deliver optimal environmental outcomes. You will collate and edit information from various sources to produce clear, well-written reports, undertake your own work to a high standard, review others’ work, manage client needs professionally, support bid preparation, and develop new business areas. Ongoing career development is supported through training, mentoring, and professional development activities.

Requirements

Experience
- Practical experience of environmental coordination, assessment, and management
- Experience working on major infrastructure projects
- Relevant post-graduate experience, ideally within a consultancy environment
- Experience of leadership within multidisciplinary teams
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process and environmental technical expertise

About you
- Degree or Masters in an environmental or science subject
- Chartered status preferred
- Strong report writing, verbal, and presentation skills
- Ability to review others’ work to ensure quality
- Able to prioritise and work effectively under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate issues and ideas effectively
- Flexible, adaptable, and willing to work from other AtkinsRéalis or client office locations
- Highly self-motivated with strong enthusiasm and commitment to delivering sustainable outcomes

Qualifications
- Educated to degree level in an environmental or related discipline
- Chartered status is desirable
- Commitment to Continual Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with professional institute requirements
