We are seeking a Senior or Principal Waste Management Consultant to play a key role within the Atkins Waste and Resource Management business. You will work within project teams to win and deliver technically excellent solutions for clients in both the public and private sectors, in the UK and internationally. This role involves leading and supporting technical, practical, and theoretical aspects of waste projects including waste strategies and implementation, business planning, waste modelling and data analysis, legislative compliance, designing and planning waste management systems, waste audits, and input into large waste infrastructure, construction waste and logistics management plans, feasibility studies, and due diligence projects. You will lead projects, support business development, and engage with clients, confidently responding to technical and financial queries. The role requires travel within the UK and internationally. Requirements

Experience
Graduated with an Honours or Masters Degree in a relevant discipline. Strong experience in the waste management industry, including treatment technologies, waste planning, and legislation. Up to date with current issues in waste and resource management. Detailed knowledge of the waste management industry and solid waste treatment and management systems such as construction and logistics, waste to energy, composting, advanced thermal treatment, recycling, and landfilling. Experience working within multidisciplinary teams on large infrastructure projects. Track record of delivering projects internationally and willingness to travel.

About you
Highly motivated and proactive with an entrepreneurial spirit. Skilled at collaborative working with good interpersonal and communication skills. Flexible and prepared to take on new challenges. Able to analyse carbon impacts associated with the waste industry and interpret associated data. Strong problem-solving, numeracy, literacy, report writing, and analytical skills. Knowledge of relevant codes of practice and legislation applicable to the waste management industry.

Qualifications
Working towards or holding full membership of the Chartered Institute of Wastes Management or a similar professional institute.
