About the Role

You will develop InfoWorks ICM computer models to investigate wastewater network issues, identify investment needs, and plan effective solutions. Your role will involve analysing datasets to support modelling, option development, and decision-making, as well as contributing to engineering solutions and providing expert guidance to clients to inform asset investment decisions. You will prepare reports and project deliverables, adhere to health and safety risk assessments, and support tender responses and fee estimates at higher levels. You will also have opportunities to supervise, mentor, and develop staff, and contribute to technical innovation within the team. This role offers exposure to a wide range of clients including water companies, local authorities, developers, and the potential to work on international projects. Experience
Proven experience in urban drainage modelling using InfoWorks ICM, ideally within the UK regulated water industry. Proficiency in GIS platforms such as ArcGIS or MapInfo. Experience in model build and verification, hydraulic and water quality analysis, catchment planning, Drainage and Wastewater Management Planning (DWMP), solution development, and technical leadership is desirable. Experience coordinating and delivering technically robust projects, peer-reviewing work, and driving continuous improvement in client deliverables is highly valued. Experience managing or technically supervising a team of wastewater modellers and overseeing report writing and validation of technical outputs is advantageous.
About You
You are a motivated professional with a background in civil engineering or related disciplines, with a strong interest in engineered solutions for environmental improvement projects, particularly those addressing storm overflows. You are comfortable liaising with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and professional bodies, and capable of producing concise technical reports summarising methodologies and key findings. You are eager to grow your expertise within a supportive and innovative team environment and are adaptable to site visits and client engagement as required.
Qualifications
BSc/MSc/BEng/MEng in Engineering, Hydrology, Geography/Geospatial Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or a closely related discipline. Professional qualifications such as CIWEM or ICE Chartership are advantageous, particularly for senior roles.
