About the Role
Protect lives and landscapes with AECOM by delivering expert flood risk solutions that safeguard communities and infrastructure. Join our dynamic Water team as an Associate Flood Forecasting Modeller, playing a senior technical role leading teams to deliver real-time flood forecasting projects and expanding services with the Environment Agency and beyond. While your primary focus will be flood forecasting, you will also engage in wider hydrology and non-real-time modelling projects.
Your responsibilities will include producing and reviewing Flood Forecasting Inception Stage Reports, assessing existing models and hydrometric data quality, developing and calibrating flood forecasting models such as PDM and Flood Modeller, and conducting hydrological analysis using tools like Flood Modeller, ICM, HEC-RAS, MIKE 11, and FEH methods. You will produce high-quality technical reports, lead tender submissions, mentor team members, build strong client relationships, and stay current with relevant legislation and guidelines.
Become part of a team of around 700 water experts across the UK and Ireland, collaborating with top-tier engineers and consultants on projects ranging from small initiatives to large-scale ventures from concept to completion. Enjoy a supportive, inclusive, and forward-thinking environment with opportunities for career development, flexible hybrid working, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and work-life balance.
