About the Role
Join AECOM’s dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as an Associate Flood Risk Consultant in the Regulations and Development sector. You will technically lead and manage the production of flood risk consenting related documents for major clients, working alongside consultants, engineers, technicians, hydrologists, hydraulic modellers and project managers. This role offers opportunities for professional development including secondments, site assignments, and training to support your growth. Key responsibilities include leading and verifying flood risk assessments, strategic flood risk assessments, flood risk activity permits, Section 19 reports, and water resource chapters of EIAs. You will contribute to tenders for complex, high-profile projects including nationally significant infrastructure projects, build strong client and multidisciplinary relationships, and ensure high-quality outputs aligned with legislation and client requirements. Additionally, you will mentor team members and may have opportunities to take on leadership roles within the Water business, supporting team development and driving AECOM’s culture and values. Experience
Significant experience in technically leading teams producing flood risk assessments and/or flood risk activity permits. Strong project management skills following NEC contract principles. Experience with hydraulic modelling as evidence for flood risk assessments or permits. Experience with FCERM appraisal, water cycle studies, and Water Framework Directive assessments is beneficial but not essential.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or related discipline. Professional chartered membership of CIWEM or ICE.
