About the Role
Join AECOM’s dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as an Associate Flood Risk Consultant in the Regulations and Development sector. You will technically lead and manage the production of flood risk consenting related documents for major clients, working within one of our rapidly growing UK offices. Our close-knit team includes consultants, engineers, technicians, hydrologists, hydraulic modellers and project managers, all committed to delivering impactful water projects.
Key responsibilities include leading and verifying the production of flood risk assessments, strategic flood risk assessments, flood risk activity permits, Section 19 reports, and water resource chapters of EIAs. You will lead input into tenders for complex and high-profile projects, including nationally significant infrastructure projects. Building strong relationships with clients and collaborating across technical disciplines will be essential to successfully deliver a wide range of fluvial, coastal, surface water, or drainage flood risk management projects.
You will keep up-to-date with relevant legislation and guidelines, using AECOM’s project management systems to deliver high-quality outputs within agreed programmes and budgets. Additionally, you will mentor staff to support their professional development. For those interested, part-time opportunities exist to take on additional leadership and operational responsibilities within the Water business in England & Wales, helping to drive AECOM’s culture, values, and quality.
