About the Role
At M Group Services, we deliver essential infrastructure services with a focus on safety, client and customer centricity, and a supportive, respectful environment. We provide end-to-end solutions across electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. Our Home Decarbonisation team works to eliminate fuel poverty by managing energy efficiency and carbon reduction initiatives, collaborating closely with homeowners and local authorities to prepare for Net Zero.
As a Bid Writer, you will play a crucial role in shaping and securing programmes that transform homes and support the UK’s transition to low-carbon living. You will craft high-scoring, persuasive tender responses by translating technical, compliance and delivery details into clear narratives aligned with client priorities and national policy.
Your responsibilities include producing compliant responses for domestic retrofit tenders, managing bid timelines alongside the Bid Manager, interpreting scoring matrices to optimise answers, collaborating with technical and operational teams, maintaining document quality and consistency, and supporting continuous improvement of bid tools and processes.

Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience writing scored responses for public-sector domestic retrofit tenders (e.g., WH:LG, Warm Homes: Social Housing/SHDF, ECO-flex, regional programmes).
- Strong understanding of PAS2035/2030, TrustMark requirements, delivery models, QA processes and resident-focused workflows.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent tenders under firm deadlines.
- High proficiency in MS Word with strong document-structuring skills.

Qualifications
- Desirable but not essential: understanding of social value measurement and narrative development.
- APMP training or similar bid writing development.
- Design and layout capability.
