About the Role
Forestry England is dedicated to growing and caring for the nation’s forests, creating amazing places for people and wildlife. As Business Support Manager, you will provide high-quality business and technical support across Forestry England’s National Operations and Forest Districts for Defra-funded programmes. Your responsibilities will include delivering dedicated business and technical advice, administrative support, policy communication and implementation, and additional support for colleagues in Forest Districts. A key focus will be acting as the secretariat and operational hub for the Resilience & Nature Recovery Programme, ensuring the Programme Board is effectively governed through administrative, technical, and logistical support. This role supports Forestry England’s ambitious plans to restore ancient woodlands, improve wildlife sites, create open spaces, and use innovative technologies to enhance nature recovery. You will be part of a passionate team committed to making a positive difference for the environment and communities.

Experience
Experience in providing business and technical support within complex programmes or organisations is desirable. Experience working in environmental or public sector organisations is advantageous but not essential.

You are organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and stakeholders. You are committed to supporting nature recovery and sustainable forestry. A full current UK driving licence is essential due to travel requirements. You are adaptable and willing to work flexibly, including occasional overnight stays.
Qualifications
There are no specific qualification requirements for this role; however, relevant experience and skills in business support, project coordination, or programme management will be highly valued. A positive attitude and commitment to Forestry England’s values and mission are essential.
