Do you want to be part of a team delivering essential water and water recycling assets that directly benefit communities and the environment, sustaining generations to come? We're looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join the Pan-Alliance Commissioning team working in the @one Alliance and Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA). This role offers the chance to work on a vast variety of clean water and water recycling projects, helping ensure assets are tested, optimised, and ready for operation before handover.

Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you'll play a key role in commissioning activities across a broad range of projects. With a focus on safety, quality, and performance, you'll help ensure that new assets function as intended and deliver long-term value for our customers and the environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the planning and execution of commissioning activities on site
- Collaborating with design, delivery, and operational teams to ensure successful project outcomes
- Assisting in site inspections, testing, and performance verification of new assets
- Producing and maintaining commissioning documentation, including method statements and risk assessments
- Helping to resolve technical issues and optimise performance
- Participating in site acceptance testing and early engagement with equipment suppliers
- Feeding into continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned processes
Experience
Some relevant experience in commissioning, operations, or maintenance (preferably within the water or utilities sector).
About you
You are a hands-on engineer with a collaborative mindset and a passion for technical delivery. Comfortable working in dynamic site environments, you are eager to learn from experienced colleagues while contributing your own expertise. You have strong communication and teamwork skills, a proactive, solutions-focused approach, and a willingness to learn and adapt. Flexibility to travel to sites within 1.5 hours of the advertised location is required.
Qualifications
An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering is required (HNC desirable). A full UK driving licence is essential.
