About the Role
At M Group Energy, we deliver essential infrastructure services across electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering, and home decarbonisation. As part of our Metering team, you will join the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, delivering efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity, and water meters.
In this role, you will undertake smart meter installations, investigate non-communicating smart meters, and respond to emergency and maintenance appointments. You will work independently, engaging with customers to provide clear explanations of meter benefits and safe usage. Restoring power or gas during emergencies will be a key part of your role, making a real difference to customers' lives.
We prioritise health and safety, providing comprehensive onboarding and continuous training to ensure you are confident and skilled. You will be supported by regular team meetings and field management, ensuring no day is the same and offering plenty of opportunities to grow and shine.
Benefits include a company van and fuel card for business use, private healthcare, a health cash plan, a matched pension scheme, online GP service, employee assistance programme, retail discounts, life assurance, cycle to work scheme, salary finance, enhanced parental leave, reward and recognition schemes, and a recommend-a-friend bonus.
We are committed to career progression, with 87% of our field managers promoted internally from Dual Fuel engineers. Additional earning potential is available through standby, overtime, and call-out payments.
Experience
Experience installing gas and electric smart meters is preferred. Previous MOCOPA experience is advantageous but not essential.
About you
You must hold a valid UK driving licence for at least 1 year with fewer than 6 points. You should enjoy working independently, have excellent customer service skills, and be motivated to develop your career in the energy sector.
Qualifications
Essential qualifications include CCN1, CMA1, CMA3, or an NVQ Level 2 in Smart Metering Dual Fuel. Additional qualifications such as REGT1, 3 phase, and CT are beneficial but not required.
