About the Role

Our ecology team works collaboratively across disciplines to ensure ecology is integrated from the earliest stages of projects, driving forward nature positive schemes. You will support nationally important infrastructure projects by managing programmes and budgets, planning and undertaking field surveys, analysing survey results, and designing ecological mitigation. You will author ecological reports and licence applications, and actively engage with other business areas to provide innovation on projects and within the ecology team. Additional Information
This role may require security clearance, dependent on the project. The vetting process is conducted by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require proof of UK residency for 5 years or longer. Requirements

Experience
- Supporting nationally important infrastructure projects
- Planning and undertaking ecological field surveys
- Analysing and interpreting survey results
- Designing and coordinating ecological mitigation
- Authoring ecological reports and licence applications
- Interdisciplinary engagement and innovation within ecology teams

About you
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), or actively working towards it
- Strong botanical skills, preferably holding at least Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC) level 4 or demonstrable equivalent ability
- Knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) legislation, policy, and methods
- Ability to undertake BNG assessments including feasibility, baseline, and post-works assessments
- Good report writing skills, preferably including Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans (HMMPs), Preliminary Ecological Assessments, and Ecological Impact Assessments
- Strong working knowledge of UK habitat survey methods, habitat condition assessments, and the Defra Biodiversity Metric
- A full UK/EEC driving licence

Qualifications
We welcome ecologists with diverse educational backgrounds and do not require a degree. Experience, knowledge, and the ability to integrate well with our team are what matter most.
