About the Role
We are looking for an Environmental Advisor to join our Cadent framework in Peterborough. Costain is the Construction Management Organisation ("CMO") responsible for managing the capital replacement and upgrade programme undertaken by Cadent’s supply chain and direct workforce. Central to Costain’s role is the strategic planning and programme management of Cadent’s capital investment programme, focusing on delivering improved regulatory performance and future proofing the network for the benefit of Cadent’s customers. This role will support the Contract Environmental functions, provide and support the development of Environmental solutions, and enable the Contract and Operational Teams to implement the Group SHE Management System. You will build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders while providing an independent and objective view of Environmental Performance on the Contract.

Responsibilities
- Support and influence the Contract Operational and Supply Chain Teams and build relationships with stakeholders to successfully implement the Group SHE Management System
- Support and deliver training where required to enable the contract team to implement the Group SHE Management System
- Support the Contract Operational and Supply Chain Contractors in delivering Contract Environmental requirements
- Provide feedback on performance during ongoing assessment of the Contracts Supply Chain Contractors
- Actively support delivery of the annual Contract and Group SHE Objectives
- Engage with the Contract Environmental Assurance programme to ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements
- Support investigation of all unplanned events and close out assurance findings, ensuring lessons are shared in accordance with the Group SHE Management System
- Support timely reporting, analysis, and use of Environmental data to influence the Contract Leadership Team

Experience
- Essential: Environmental related experience
- Desirable: Relevant Environmental experience in a related industry

Qualifications
- Environmental degree or equivalent
- AIEMA or equivalent
- Environment and sustainability modules within course
