About the Role
At M Group Energy, we deliver essential infrastructure services across electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering, and home decarbonisation. As part of the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, our Metering team installs, maintains, and manages gas, electricity, and water meters to ensure accurate billing and monitor energy usage patterns.

As a Field Based Technical Auditor, you will be working in the field across South London and surrounding areas, using your hands-on experience as a Dual Fuel Engineer to uphold the highest standards of safety and quality. This varied role combines technical expertise with coaching and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out technical audits and quality checks on dual fuel installations
- Producing clear, accurate reports to support operational improvements
- Coaching and mentoring engineers to improve performance and standards
- Acting as a subject matter expert providing technical guidance to operational teams
- Supporting internal competency assessments and ensuring consistency across the business
- Assisting with accident and incident investigations to reinforce a strong safety culture
- Supporting external audit requirements such as MOCOPA, NICEIC, and Gas Safe
- Contributing to process improvements and technical best practices
- Supporting resolution of complex technical queries in the field

Experience
- Proven experience as a Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer (gas and electric) is essential
- Strong knowledge of metering installation standards and compliance requirements
- Experience coaching, supporting, and developing other engineers is highly valued

Qualifications
Desirable but not essential:
- Medium pressure or 3-phase qualifications
- Previous experience supporting audits or compliance processes
