About the Role
Costain has secured extensive work across the water sector to support the AMP 8 investment cycle. Anglian Water is committed to delivering safe, clean drinking water to all in the Anglian region through an ongoing capital investment programme focused on maintaining and improving water storage assets. This involves draining down and inspecting storage point assets to establish scopes of work, completing the required works, and bringing the assets back online. This large-scale programme covers locations across the entire Anglian Water region.

As a key partner, we are seeking an experienced General Foreperson to join the Project Delivery team. You will drive delivery through both pre-construction and on-site phases of the project. Your responsibilities will include operational delivery on specific water storage point projects, supporting buildability assessments, and ensuring smooth onsite execution, all while collaborating with a wider delivery team.

You will be expected to demonstrate strong strategic thinking and excellent communication skills to engage with a wide range of stakeholders including client teams, designers, and direct reports. Your leadership will ensure safety and quality delivery at all stages of the project.

Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating across individual projects
- Facilitating communication between suppliers, subcontractors, engineering, safety and environmental teams, and client representatives
- Delivering all project requirements, identifying training needs, reviewing workforce performance, and ensuring effective briefings
- Maintaining high standards of quality to meet specifications first time and minimize rework
- Ensuring accurate and up-to-date allocation sheets, delivery tickets, and plant returns are provided at shift close
- Keeping all inspection records, work permits, and briefings current and compliant
- Conducting regular safety and environmental inspections and implementing necessary actions
- Maintaining a detailed daily site diary including changes, variations, subcontractor attendance, and records of work-related discussions with clients, designers, and project teams

Experience
- Previous experience in multidisciplinary projects including Civils and MEICA, preferably within the water sector
- Proven track record in managing water infrastructure or medium to large-scale projects
- Experience leading multi-contractor and multi-disciplined teams
- Ability to review information and consult with relevant parties to make agile decisions
- Demonstrated ability to outperform against tight budgets through effective programme development, risk and opportunity management, and innovation
- Experience in stakeholder management including customers, clients, site operators, landowners, and utility companies
