About the Role
Glendale Countryside Ltd, part of Glendale Managed Services, provides comprehensive green services across the UK. We are currently delivering landscaping and grounds maintenance services to Milton Keynes City Council, maintaining the borough's landscape assets.

The Grounds Maintenance Operative role involves delivering an effective grounds maintenance service including garden maintenance and operating machinery used in grounds upkeep. Key responsibilities include general maintenance using ride-on and pedestrian machinery, horticultural operations such as hedge trimming, shrub bed maintenance, planting, strimming, blowing, hard surface and tree maintenance, chemical application, garden clearance, litter removal, and emptying bins.

You will assist the Chargehand in ensuring contract requirements are met on time and to quality standards, support apprentices and fixed term operatives, and communicate effectively with the team. You will be expected to wear the correct uniform and PPE, input site visit data accurately using Glendale Live 2.0, and carry out all tasks in compliance with Health and Safety procedures.

Additional duties include machine maintenance and security, ensuring all equipment is safe, reporting defects, and adhering to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. Winter gritting duties may be required from October to April.

This role demands a commitment to quality, customer care, environmental responsibility, and safe working practices in line with company policies and legal requirements.

Experience
Previous grounds maintenance experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. Experience with handheld machinery is advantageous.

Reliable and conscientious with a can-do attitude and willingness to learn. Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. Previous horticultural or grounds maintenance experience is beneficial.

Qualifications
Must hold a full, clean UK driving licence.
