About the Role
Glendale Countryside Ltd, part of Glendale Managed Services, provides comprehensive green services across the UK. We deliver landscaping services to Milton Keynes City Council, maintaining the borough's landscape assets to a high standard.

The Landscape Operative role involves delivering effective grounds maintenance services including garden maintenance and operating machinery used in grounds upkeep. Key responsibilities include general maintenance using ride-on and pedestrian machinery, horticultural tasks such as hedge trimming, shrub bed maintenance, planting, strimming, blowing, hard surface and tree maintenance, chemical application, garden clearance, litter removal, and groundsman duties.

You will assist and support the Chargehand in contract requirements, including paperwork, quality control, and team leadership. The role requires operating company vehicles and towing trailers as needed, ensuring all equipment and machinery are maintained, safe, and fit for purpose. Winter gritting duties may also be required from October to April.

Health and safety compliance is essential, including adherence to Glendale’s policies, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, and promoting safe working practices. You will be responsible for accurate site data input and fostering positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and customers.

Experience
Previous knowledge of grounds maintenance and horticulture is required. Experience with handheld machinery is desirable but full training will be provided.

About you
Reliable and conscientious with a can-do attitude and willingness to learn. Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. Previous grounds maintenance or horticultural experience is advantageous.

Qualifications
Full, clean UK driving licence is essential.
PA1 & PA6 certification preferred.
Chainsaw NPTC certification is desirable.
Further training will be provided as required.
