About the Role
As a Heat Pump Engineer at IMS, you will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of heat pump and emitter systems, ensuring high quality and optimal performance. You will manage projects efficiently to achieve timely execution and seamless client handovers with zero callbacks. Your duties include performing service and maintenance tasks, troubleshooting electrical and plumbing issues, and maintaining clear communication with project coordinators. You will adhere to health and safety requirements, complete necessary documentation, and contribute positively to the team environment while upholding company standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation and maintenance tasks including underfloor heating, radiator installations, pipework, and heat pump services following method statements and relevant standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on existing heat pump systems to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues early.
- Troubleshoot basic heat pump system issues and provide recommendations for repairs and improvements.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all service work and inspections.
- Follow established safety protocols and industry regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Deliver excellent customer service by effectively communicating with clients and addressing their concerns.
- Manage projects by planning and coordinating activities to meet milestones and deadlines.
- Conduct fault finding and repairs for electrical and plumbing issues related to heat pump systems.
- Achieve successful set-to-run handovers to clients, ensuring they are confident in operating their new systems.
- Collaborate closely with project coordinators to align on timescales and ensure timely procurement of parts and materials.
- Maintain clear communication with project coordinators throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage health and safety requirements diligently, promoting a culture of safety within the team.

Recruitment Process

Requirements

Experience
- Previous experience installing heat pump heating systems in domestic properties
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Qualifications
- Minimum Level 2 Plumbing, Heating or Heat Pump qualification from a recognised awarding body (e.g., City & Guilds, SVQ)
- Completion of Heat Pump manufacturer installation courses
- National Certification for Unvented Hot Water Systems: G3 qualification or proven experience
- Water Regulations WRAS qualifications
- CSCS card or equivalent health and safety qualification
- BPEC (or equivalent) GSHP or ASHP qualification (desirable)
- Low Temperature Heating Systems qualification (desirable)
- Part P certification (desirable)
- F-Gas certification
- Completion of relevant refrigeration and refrigerant handling training
- Gas Safe registration if applicable
