About the Role
Tetra Tech is seeking a motivated Junior Project Manager to support the delivery of smarter wastewater monitoring and sampling programmes for UK water utilities. Based primarily in Brentford, you will assist with multi-site programmes and frameworks across London and the South West of England, with potential delivery further afield. Working closely with experienced project managers, clients, regional field crews, and office-based specialists, you will support projects from inception through to handover. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your project management skills while contributing to important programmes that support environmental protection and reduce pollution risk.
Your responsibilities will include supporting programme planning, coordinating resources, monitoring progress, maintaining project records, assisting with quality and safety assurance, communicating with stakeholders, and contributing to data analysis and continuous improvement. You will help ensure projects are delivered to agreed scope, timescales, budgets, and quality standards.
In the short term, you will support the coordination and delivery of existing wastewater monitoring programmes, helping to improve communication between field and office teams. Over the medium term, you will develop your confidence in project planning, stakeholder management, commercial awareness, and operational delivery. With the right support and development, you can progress into a Project Manager role and, in time, take on responsibility for larger and more complex programmes.
You will work on significant water-industry programmes that support environmental protection, reduce pollution risk, and help safeguard communities.
Tetra Tech is a leading provider of consulting and engineering services working across the full project lifecycle worldwide. We provide a collaborative environment that supports individual performance, innovation, and creativity, supporting public and private sector clients on local, national, and international projects to deliver sustainable and resilient solutions. The company supports reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process and employment in alignment with the Equality Act 2010.
Experience
Experience in project coordination, administration, water, utilities, or a related operational environment would be advantageous. Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and supporting operational delivery is beneficial.
About you
You are motivated, organised, and eager to develop your project management career. You have strong organisational skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to take ownership of your work. You understand the importance of health, safety, and risk management and are willing to learn about field activities such as confined spaces and highways work. Clear and professional communication skills with confidence to build positive working relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders are essential.
An interest in drainage and sewer networks, along with confidence using Microsoft Office, data analysis tools, and work-management systems, will support your success in this role.
Qualifications
A relevant degree or recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2 or APM is desirable but not essential. IOSH Managing Safely, utility services experience, and a commitment to continuing professional development would also be beneficial. A full UK driving licence is expected.
