About the Role
At Veolia, we are committed to ecological transformation and making a positive impact on the world’s resources. As Media Manager, you will deliver the media strategy within a small team to support and strengthen Veolia’s positive profile across UK national, regional, broadcast and trade media. Working closely with the Head of External Communications, you will create engaging stories that promote the Veolia brand, business strategy and innovation across all corporate functions and business units.
You will be responsible for creating and delivering proactive media content, including writing, proofreading and editing, as well as securing media coverage. Your role will involve both proactive and reactive content to protect and enhance the Veolia brand and raise awareness of the company’s purpose and services.
Key responsibilities include building strong relationships with journalists, identifying media opportunities on evolving issues, providing media responses including out-of-hours coverage, and offering crisis media support for unplanned events.

Experience
- Proven ability to create content for press releases and other distribution channels
- Demonstrable experience building effective media campaigns
- Experience managing a busy press office, including press line and press inbox
- Ability to nurture long-term relationships with key media influencers
About You
- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills, able to communicate complex technological processes
- Natural leader with strong decision-making skills, able to work independently and maintain attention to detail under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills
Qualifications
- Degree qualification or relevant experience desirable
- Sector knowledge preferred
- Experience working with environment, business or broadcast journalists advantageous
- Experience communicating scientific or technical matters to trade publications in support of commercial goals is a plus
