About the Role
Join AECOM’s dynamic Water team as a Principal or Associate Flood Forecasting Modeller and play a senior technical role leading teams to deliver real-time flood forecasting projects. You will help expand our services with the Environment Agency and other clients, working primarily on flood forecasting but also on wider hydrology and non-real-time modelling projects. Your responsibilities will include producing and reviewing Flood Forecasting Inception Stage Reports, assessing model quality and hydrometric data, developing and calibrating flood forecasting models such as PDM and Flood Modeller, and conducting hydrological analysis using tools like Flood Modeller, ICM, HEC-RAS, MIKE 11, and FEH methods. You will produce high-quality technical reports documenting model builds and uncertainties, lead and contribute to tenders, mentor team members, and build strong client relationships. Stay current with relevant legislation and guidelines while using AECOM’s project management systems to deliver projects on time and within budget. Become part of a team of around 700 water experts across the UK and Ireland, collaborating on projects from concept to completion in an inclusive and forward-thinking environment that supports career development, flexible working, and well-being.
