About the Role
Join AECOM’s dynamic Nature team as a Principal Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) Specialist and help shape the future of environmental consultancy. You will deliver biodiversity net gain assessments for infrastructure and development projects across the UK, working on high-profile schemes such as National Grid’s new electrical transmission line, the TransPennine Route Upgrade, blue and green hydrogen production facilities, solar farms, water and highways projects. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients, planning authorities, statutory bodies and other stakeholders to provide expert ecological input and support consultation and engagement activities. You will contribute to the development of AECOM’s BNG vision and technical capabilities, collaborate with digital teams on biodiversity tools, and lead bids and tenders for ecological and BNG services. Mentoring and supporting junior staff and peers is a key part of this role, within a supportive environment offering internal and external training, mentoring and coaching. Experience
Proven experience leading biodiversity net gain assessments on large-scale infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and policy. Experience interpreting UKHabs data and Habitat Condition Assessments. Demonstrated ability to review technical work, support wider team members, and contribute to bidding and tendering processes.

Qualifications
