About the Role
Shape the future of our cities and environments by joining AtkinsRéalis as a Principal Environmental Consultant. In this vital role, you will collaborate with clients and design teams across the UK, leading environmental management integration across sectors including Aviation, Defence, Energy, Cities & Development, Education, Rail, and Water. You will coordinate and deliver environmental work undertaken by multi-disciplinary teams, including Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), options appraisals, and environmental management. Champion high standards of environmental performance within multidisciplinary engineering projects, influencing project development and delivering optimal environmental outcomes. You will collate and edit information from various sources to produce clear, well-written reports, undertake your own work to an excellent standard, and review the work of others, ensuring delivery on time and within budget. Confidently manage clients’ needs and communicate issues and ideas effectively. Lead and support bid preparation and develop new business opportunities for the team. Undertake Continual Professional Development in line with your professional institute’s requirements. Requirements

Experience
Substantial relevant post-graduate experience, preferably within a consultancy environment. Experience working on linear infrastructure projects is beneficial. Comprehensive knowledge of the EIA process and environmental technical specialisms. Proven leadership experience within multidisciplinary teams. Strong report writing, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to review others’ work to ensure quality. Able to prioritise and work effectively under pressure.

About you
Degree or Masters in an environmental or science subject, with Chartership from a relevant institution. Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate issues and ideas effectively. Flexible, adaptable, and prepared to take on new challenges and work from other AtkinsRéalis or client office locations. Highly self-motivated with strong enthusiasm and commitment to delivering sustainable outcomes.

Qualifications
Degree or Masters in an environmental or science subject. Chartered status from a relevant professional institution is required.
