About the Role
Join AECOM’s national Environment team as a Principal Environmental Consultant working on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) projects. You will manage environmental inputs to large-scale infrastructure developments that support the UK’s net zero commitments and transform national infrastructure. Projects include energy generation (carbon capture and storage, hydrogen, renewables such as large scale solar and floating offshore wind), energy distribution and transmission (including Great Grid Upgrade), carbon capture pipelines, strategic rail projects, highway improvements, greenway projects, regeneration developments including portside, and sectors such as ecommerce, minerals and waste, water, defence, aviation, commercial, residential and industrial.
In this role, you will provide expert input to EIA screening and scoping reports, environmental assessments/Environmental Statements and future Environmental Outcomes Reports. You will be involved throughout all project stages from early strategy and site identification, feasibility, optioneering, outline and detailed design, through to construction and operation/maintenance. You will work across multiple consenting regimes including DCO, TCPA, TWA, and hybrid Bills, collaborating with a team of over 165 environmental specialists across the UK and Ireland.

Experience
Proven experience managing environmental inputs to EIA projects across multiple sectors and consenting regimes. Strong technical knowledge of environmental assessments and Environmental Statements. Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects is essential.

Qualifications
