About the Role
Ricardo is now a member of WSP. As we complete our integration, you may see references to both WSP and Ricardo during the application and interview process. At WSP, you can access our global scale, contribute to landmark projects and connect with the brightest minds in your field to do the best work of your life. You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives. You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.

Our Water & Environment Team is experiencing substantial growth, supported by a strong track record in the water industry and airports. We have long-term relationships with many of the UK's water companies and airport operators, servicing multiple environmental frameworks and sizeable capital water and wastewater projects.

We are seeking an experienced Principal Environmental Consultant with a strong technical background and the ability to manage projects throughout their lifecycle. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team of water and environmental experts, including specialists in water resources, hydro-ecology, hydrology, flood risk, geomorphology, water quality, ecology, natural capital, environmental impact assessment and planning.

Your work may involve water resource investigations, strategic water resources (SROs), drought planning, surface water runoff and wastewater investigations. A key part of your role will be understanding the interconnections between various environmental disciplines to help solve complex challenges with a well-organised and collaborative approach.

You will provide technical leadership, oversee specialist projects and sizeable technical elements within wider multi-disciplinary programmes. This includes leading bids through to project execution and close-out. Acting as a technical lead, you will communicate clearly within delivery teams and to clients, balancing quality service provision with client needs and environmental regulatory requirements.

People management experience is desirable, as some direct staff management may be required depending on business needs. An appetite for business development and experience in winning new work is also welcomed.
