About the Role
Shape the future of water with AECOM by leading advanced wastewater modelling that drives sustainable infrastructure and lasting environmental impact. Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Principal Wastewater Modeller, delivering impactful water projects across the UK and internationally. You will work on significant flood alleviation schemes, pollution reduction, and infrastructure projects that support your continuous professional growth. Our modelling team is fully integrated with wider project teams, collaborating closely with experts to develop comprehensive solutions. We work with public and private sector clients including Severn Trent, Anglian Water, Northern Ireland Water, the Environment Agency, LLFAs, and other infrastructure providers. Our deliverables include Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, Outline Business Cases, hydraulic models, and detailed designs. We also shape industry standards by advising and developing guidance that benchmarks best practices, keeping AECOM at the forefront of the water industry.

You will lead the development, calibration, and verification of wastewater network models (e.g., InfoWorks ICM or similar platforms), provide technical oversight and quality assurance across multiple projects, and act as technical lead on major frameworks and modelling programmes. Experience
Extensive experience in wastewater network modelling within a consultancy or water utility environment. Proven ability to lead projects and provide technical direction. Strong proficiency in industry-standard modelling software such as InfoWorks ICM. Experience working with UK water industry regulations, AMP cycles, and wastewater planning frameworks.

Qualifications
Degree (BEng/MEng or MSc) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or related discipline. Chartered status (CEng) or working towards chartership is desirable.
