About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Thames Water’s mitigation of enforcement risk arising from water discharge non-compliance against environmental permits and/or pollution incidents. You will be part of a team responding to the Environment Agency (EA) across various communication mediums. This high-profile role involves close collaboration with our legal team and the EA, providing exposure across the business at all levels and the chance to contribute to the company’s wider environmental function.
The primary focus will be to respond to EA informal requests for information within agreed deadlines via written correspondence. You will work closely with multiple stakeholders across the business to gather relevant information and provide assurance by assessing whether mitigation actions to reduce recurrence risk are robust enough to satisfy the EA. You will also interrogate the initial information request to verify its factual accuracy and clarify facts as part of your prepared written responses.
The team’s objective is to mitigate any enforcement action potentially taken by the regulator due to pollution incidents or non-compliance. You may also have the opportunity to contribute to the wider information and enforcement risk functions within the team.
