About the Role
Join AECOM’s dynamic Nature team as a Senior Ecologist and contribute to shaping the future of the environment. You will work on a diverse portfolio of ecology programs and projects across sectors such as power and renewables, infrastructure, environment, and transport. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including landscape, GIS, engineering, sustainability, and drainage specialists. Recent projects include some of the largest solar farms in the UK, cable tunnels, electricity network upgrades, habitats regulations assessments, and masterplanning for residential developments.
Your responsibilities will include supporting the preparation of high-quality and commercially astute bids and tenders for ecological services, planning and organising all phases of ecological project work to meet programme and budget requirements, delivering consultancy and advisory services, developing pragmatic solutions to complex ecological issues, and producing ecology chapters for environmental statements and protected species licence applications. You will also author or technically review project deliverables to ensure high-quality outputs.

Experience
Demonstrable experience in planning and delivery of ecological services on projects in the UK or Ireland; excellent field skills in at least one specialist area including any protected species licences; mentoring and supporting ecology team members.

Qualifications
Membership of an appropriate professional institution (such as CIEEM) and evidence of working towards Chartership; well-developed understanding of relevant wildlife conservation legislation and best practice.
