You will work collaboratively with a range of technical specialists on diverse projects, spearheading and coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and related deliverables. This role involves close client engagement, business development, and mentoring colleagues within the team. Key clients in the region include Network Rail, the Environment Agency, National Highways, Anglian Water, Yorkshire Water, Homes England, and several local authorities. Your responsibilities will include leading the coordination and delivery of environmental work undertaken by multi-disciplinary teams, championing high standards of environmental performance within engineering projects, influencing project development to deliver optimal environmental outcomes, collating and editing information to produce clear, well-written reports, and reviewing the work of others to ensure quality and timeliness. You will also manage client needs professionally, support bid preparation, develop new business areas, and undertake continual professional development aligned with your professional institute requirements.

Experience
Relevant post-graduate experience, ideally within a consultancy environment. Practical experience working on linear infrastructure projects (rail/road) is beneficial. Comprehensive knowledge of the EIA process and environmental technical specialisms. Experience of leadership within multidisciplinary teams. Proven ability to manage client relationships confidently and professionally.

You can prioritise and work effectively under pressure. You are flexible, adaptable, and prepared to take on new challenges, including working from other Atkins or client office locations. Strong report writing, verbal and presentation skills are essential, along with the ability to review the work of others to ensure quality.
Qualifications
Degree or Masters in an environmental or science subject. Chartered status is desirable.
