We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to support the growth of the business and the continued delivery of world class service to our diverse client base.
Working within a dedicated and dynamic team and reporting directly to senior leadership, this is an exciting opportunity to work on high profile projects with the best clients, consultants and contractors. The ideal candidate will be experienced in the day-to-day delivery of project management services, with the ability to work autonomously, ensuring that project standards are world class and managing the operational aspects of projects, including identifying necessary resources, assigning individual responsibilities and delivery of work elements. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of safely delivering projects to the satisfaction of their clients and will use their experience to develop further business opportunities from their existing networks.
The candidate selected will be one who aims to grow into a senior leadership position and who thrives on challenges and in a client facing role, being both eager to learn and develop whilst also assisting to drive our position as a leader in the industry.
What You Will Do
- Work closely with the Associate Director, Director or Partner to deliver successful project outcomes for our clients.
- Work with your Project Lead to agree your roles and responsibilities to allow you to fully own an element(s) of a project(s).
- Manage or support the managing of Assistant Project Managers and Apprentices on your project(s).
- Develop close relationships with client representatives and other professional team members to be seen as critical to project success.
- Build a network of peers throughout the industry including consultants, contractors and clients.
- Work closely with Cost Managers to understand costs and achieve the best commercial outcomes.
- Take strategic responsibility for client outcomes, not just outputs.
- Work with the Client team to define Employers Requirements and ensure outcomes align with client expectations.
- Ensure all tasks are completed to the highest quality and accuracy with minimal guidance.
- Maintain complete, relevant and appropriately archived project documentation.
- Proactively develop knowledge of the project lifecycle to achieve technical excellence.
- Produce and maintain project development programmes with guidance.
- Manage critical success factors across all project lifecycle stages including site acquisition, briefing, project controls, leadership, fees, planning, design, risk management, procurement, logistics, contract administration, quality management, completion and handover.
- Continually develop understanding of industry challenges and opportunities such as modern methods of construction, ESG agenda and pre-manufacture value.
- Develop confident and clear communication skills both internally and externally.
- Utilise and help improve best practice tools and processes including technology to support service delivery.
- Ensure G&T safety practices and processes are fully understood and practiced.
- Understand commercial documents relevant to projects and identify issues with Project Lead.
- Embrace collaborative values, sharing knowledge internally.
- Support recruitment and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
- Promote professional development of junior staff through guidance.
- Communicate with colleagues and network contacts to develop new project leads.
- Assist with production of fee proposals and bids.
- Utilise G&T Training programme to develop proficiency in PowerBI.
- Participate actively in identification and delivery of Community Benefits.
Experience
- Proven experience in day-to-day delivery of project management services.
- Experience working on multiple projects with different clients and consultant teams.
- Demonstrated project leadership skills and ability to manage specific project tasks.
- Experience working in a client-focused environment with commitment to excellent client service.
- Ability to foster close client and project relationships, resolve issues and exceed expectations.
- Experience providing leadership to junior team members.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and Asta PowerProject.
- Business development minded with ambition to grow professional network.

Qualifications
- Degree level qualification in Project Management or a similar relevant field.
- MRICS preferred but not essential; support provided to gain MRICS qualification.
