About the Role
We are seeking a Shift Process Technician to join our team on a permanent basis at Long Reach STW, a site with over 100 years of history serving North-West Kent. You will be responsible for the effective day-to-day running of the site, ensuring processes are controlled using SCADA tools and responding appropriately to maintain operational standards. At times, you will act as the responsible person on-site, directing Process and Maintenance Technicians to deliver services in line with company standards.

Your duties will include completing daily process checks, receiving chemical deliveries, collaborating with maintenance teams to ensure continuous site operation, and prioritising the delivery of excellent Final Effluent quality. You will monitor, collate, and report data to meet statutory and regulatory compliance, interpret SCADA trends, and carry out routine tasks such as stock and safety checks, health and safety compliance, and inventory management.

Additional responsibilities include optimising plant performance and availability, managing contractors to ensure Safe Systems of Work compliance, undertaking isolations for safe maintenance, processing faults and advising on rectifications, assisting with capital projects, coordinating maintenance and operational personnel, and conducting safety and security checks. You will also undergo training in safety procedures including confined space entry.

Experience
- Hands-on and practical approach with strong troubleshooting skills
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Experience with Process and/or water treatment is desirable but not essential
- Previous knowledge of SCADA systems would be beneficial

- Able to work unsupervised and prepared to work both day and night shifts on a 12-hour rotating pattern
- Trained in safety procedures and fully competent using company IT systems and Office software
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and eager to learn with a can-do attitude
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with the team
- Ability to take ownership of faults, respond quickly, and identify the best solutions
