About the Role
Costain are working with United Utilities (UU) on a framework agreement to provide overall management and execution of larger-scale on-site asset maintenance activities across the Northwest region, including the provision and management of supplementary engineering services to manage and deliver diverse works. The Site Agent will develop key relationships with UU operational personnel and supply chain partners, promoting a team spirit environment and acting as the site-based lead for MSP on the projects under their control. This role is site based and involves leading the site team, driving a positive SHEQ culture, and promoting Framework and Group improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include identifying site delivery resource requirements, liaising with the Project Manager on resource and support needs, reporting on key project metrics including SHEQ, Time and Cost, and striving to deliver efficiencies. The Site Agent will identify and resolve blockers or issues, escalating where necessary, ensuring 100% SHEQ compliance with the Framework HASEMP and Management plan, and working closely with colleagues, teams, and clients to form supportive and positive relationships. The role also involves achieving efficient handover of projects on completion, managing stakeholders both internal and external, managing United Utilities customers impacted by the project, and contributing to monthly forecasting of cost and programme for all projects.

Requirements

Experience
- Previous experience managing multidisciplinary projects including Civils and MEICA (preferably in the water sector, but not essential)
- Strong track record of delivering project programmes
- Knowledge and understanding of Constructability and Temporary Works
- Knowledge and understanding of construction forms of contract through experience and formal training
- Computer competence including MS Word

Qualifications
- HNC/HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- SMSTS qualification
- CSCS card
- Full UK Driving Licence
