Up to £49,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
About the Role
This is an exciting role within the Sludge Stream Processing team, where you will oversee the Sludge Powered Generator and Thermal Hydrolysis Process. You will play a key part in the site’s day-to-day operations, contributing significantly to keeping the River Thames clean and supporting green power generation. No two days are the same, offering a challenging, interesting, and rewarding working environment. Full training and support will be provided for Health & Safety, technical, and process requirements related to the plant.
Key responsibilities include controlling the daily operation of work processes, operating the site in line with company requirements and regulatory quality standards, and meeting customer demand. You will process faults and advise on rectifications, raise issues to Maintenance Scheduler or Performance Managers as needed, carry out plant isolations, and issue Permits to Work as part of a safe system of work. You will assist with on-site capital projects, coordinate maintenance and operational personnel, raise reactive work requests, monitor stock levels, place chemical orders, and collate and report data to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance. Additionally, you will undertake safety and security checks and take responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues.
Experience
- Experience managing or controlling industrial processes in a similar industry.
- Previous experience working with permitting procedures and isolations.
- Understanding of operational health and safety procedures and perimeters.
- Ability to work unsupervised and willingness to cover shifts if required.
- Full UK Driving Licence is required.

Qualifications
- Completion of an Engineering NVQ Level 2, BTEC, or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Previous experience with SCADA systems would be an advantage.
