About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and driven individual to take ownership of engineering projects end-to-end across Thames Water’s operational sites and estate. You will manage every stage of CAPEX projects — from early scoping and competitive tendering to contractor procurement, site setup, health and safety checks, commissioning, training, and final handover to operations. The internal job title for this role is Project Engineer, within the Capital Maintenance Project Team.

Key responsibilities include managing and delivering a portfolio of electrical projects valued between £100,000 and £1 million, running multiple live projects simultaneously while preparing future schemes through scoping and tendering. You will drive innovative engineering solutions that boost site efficiency and deliver value for money, collaborate with operations teams and contractors to develop low-risk, cost-effective scopes, and lead with a zero-compromise approach to health and safety by carrying out monthly audits.

You will oversee construction activities in line with company procedures, industry standards, and CDM regulations, work closely with delivery partners and contractors to ensure on-time delivery, ensure compliance with Asset Standards and British & International Standards, provide financial forecasting and VOWD reporting, and prepare, review, and approve project documentation including PCI, programmes, RAMS, and CPPs. Additionally, you will manage commissioning, training, and handover, ensuring operations teams receive fully completed and compliant project packages.

A driving licence is required as this role includes a car allowance.

Experience
- Background in Electrical Engineering within construction or project management roles.
- Strong ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, including internal teams and contractors.
- Knowledge of Clean Water Processing and/or Wastewater Treatment is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications
- Formal qualifications ideally BTEC/HND or above, or equivalent experience.
