About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced fleet or transport team leader to advance your career. As Transport Supervisor, you will support the Transport Manager in managing the day-to-day running of our centralised Logistics Management Centre (LMC), which provides a single point of contact for our operational business. You will maintain consistently high standards and reliability across a team of drivers operating waste and water tankers, HIAB vehicles from 7.5t up to 26t with beavertail, as well as various vans and trailers.

Your key duties will include managing driver performance and being the main point of contact to ensure all driving requirements are met. You will provide initial training, periodic assessments, and refresher training to ensure drivers comply with current legislation. You will ensure vehicles are compliant, ready for use, and that any defects are recorded and actioned. You will oversee the safe and secure loading and unloading of vehicles through appropriate training and checks.

Compliance with transport legislation, including drivers’ hours regulations and Working Time Directives in line with the ‘O’ licence legislation and company procedures, will be a critical part of your role. You will promote a safe and fuel-efficient driving approach to minimise risks and optimise vehicle running costs. Additionally, you will be accountable for the safe and secure parking of vehicles under your charge.

This is a fixed-term contract for a minimum of 6 months. A company van will be allocated to you for travel between multiple sites.

Experience
Previous experience managing a team of drivers and their performance is essential. Extensive knowledge of driving and operating tankers and HIAB vehicles is required. Clear understanding of Transport law and the Road Traffic Act is necessary. Working knowledge of Drivers' Hours rules and Working Time regulations is expected.

About you
You must be happy working on a rotational shift pattern including days and nights. Holding a UK driver’s licence is essential as the role involves travelling to multiple sites. Holding an HGV licence with Tacho and CPC is desirable.

Qualifications
HGV licence with Tacho and CPC is desirable but not essential. UK driver’s licence is required.
