Joining our national urban drainage team means working within a multi-disciplinary group serving a variety of clients including water companies on major projects. You will be part of a team developing cutting-edge digital services and sustainable, innovative solutions that reduce environmental impact and improve urban environments.
Due to growth in our Water business, we are recruiting a Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller to join our Wastewater Asset Planning Team in Derby. You will work alongside modellers, engineers, GIS specialists, and programmers to deliver schemes for clients such as Water Companies, Local Authorities, and developers, with potential involvement in international projects.
The Asset Planning team undertakes projects in clean and wastewater sectors, including drainage network improvement schemes to relieve community flooding and reduce storm overflows to rivers and seas. Your role will involve feasibility studies, computer modelling and analysis, engineering design, site visits, and liaison with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and professional bodies.
Key responsibilities include developing sewer system models to identify deficiencies and propose solutions, creating 1D and 2D models to investigate flood risk and mechanisms, analysing operational data and hydraulic model root causes, supporting technical report development, undertaking site asset surveys, and preparing health and safety risk assessments.
Experience
Previous demonstrable experience in wastewater modelling using InfoWorks ICM.
Experience with InfoWorks 2D / ICM, InfoNet/InfoAsset.
Experience using GIS software such as QGIS, MapInfo, or ArcGIS preferred.
Good understanding of the UK water industry.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Desirable experience includes water supply, treatment and drainage projects, DWMPs and/or SOAF, software such as FME, Power BI, and programming tools like Ruby, Python, or Visual Basic.
Experience working in a partnering environment and knowledge of local water client specifications.
Full UK driving license is desirable.

Qualifications
