About the Role
Join AtkinsRéalis and contribute to making the world’s outlook brighter and healthier by working within one of the UK’s largest multi-disciplinary water and wastewater infrastructure teams. You will develop InfoWorks ICM computer models to investigate wastewater network issues, identify investment needs, and plan solutions. Your role includes analysing datasets to support modelling and decision-making, preparing reports and project deliverables, and adhering to health and safety risk assessments. At higher grades, you will support tender preparation, supervise and mentor staff, and contribute to technical innovation. You will work collaboratively with engineers, modellers, GIS specialists, and technicians to deliver projects for a diverse client base including water companies, local authorities, developers, and potentially international clients. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a rapidly expanding practice with strong emphasis on personal development, mentorship, and career progression within a supportive and innovative environment.
Experience
Proven experience in urban drainage modelling using InfoWorks ICM, ideally within the UK regulated water industry. Proficiency in GIS platforms such as ArcGIS or MapInfo is required. Experience in model build and verification, hydraulic and water quality analysis, catchment planning, Drainage and Wastewater Management Planning (DWMP), solution development, and technical leadership is desirable. Experience coordinating and delivering technically robust projects, strong peer-review skills, and managing or supervising a team of wastewater modellers is advantageous.
About you
You are a motivated professional with the ability to deliver ICM modelling and solution-development expertise to support environmental improvement projects, particularly relating to storm overflows. You are comfortable liaising with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and professional bodies, and capable of producing concise technical reports summarising methodologies and key findings. You demonstrate a commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement and are eager to contribute to technical innovation within the team.
