About the Role
We are seeking a Water Efficiency & Optimisation Specialist to join Thames Water on a permanent basis. In this role, you will identify, lead, and drive the implementation of optimisation and efficiency projects within the Water business unit by collaborating closely with frontline teams, operational management, and the supply chain. You will engage stakeholders to develop clear delivery plans, resolve blockers, and provide regular progress updates. The role requires flexibility to manage workflow across the Thames Water estate, including on-site, depot, and office visits.
Your key responsibilities will include maintaining a strong focus on Health & Safety for yourself and others, embedding it in all activities and promptly reporting any risks or concerns. You will plan, manage, and deliver projects by defining scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and key deliverables. Providing consistent updates on progress, including milestones achieved, challenges encountered, and upcoming actions, will be essential.
You will follow agreed governance processes, proactively manage risks, and work closely with the PMO to ensure effective delivery. Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and execute aligned plans, sourcing and analysing data from systems such as SCADA, GIS, Salesforce, and SAP to support decision-making will be key aspects of the role. You will develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track KPIs and measure efficiency improvements, presenting insights clearly to enable informed, strategic decisions.
Capturing and reporting benefits using the agreed efficiency model, ensuring alignment with finance approvals, and remaining commercially aware to deliver value and support organisational goals are important responsibilities. You will also engage regularly with field teams to promote a culture of efficiency, capturing ideas and sharing outcomes.
