About the Role
ADAS ALM, part of the RSK Group, is seeking an Agriculture and Environment Consultant to join our Agriculture and Land Management team. This role involves delivering consultancy services to farmer and grower clients, government agencies, supply chain partners, utility companies, commercial organisations, charities, and research institutes. The successful candidate will provide a wide range of agricultural and environmental consultancy advice, requiring versatility and a broad skillset. You will work on farm visits, delivering advice on diffuse pollution reduction, resource protection, land and soil management, farm infrastructure, and agri-environment schemes. The role also includes providing technical and business-focused farm management consultancy, working with individual farmers, corporate clients, and public sector contracts covering topics such as regenerative farming, agricultural soils, nutrients, livestock, carbon auditing, and agri-environment schemes. You will collaborate in project teams, prepare tenders and client proposals, analyse problems, and provide independent, cost-effective, technically sound, and legally compliant advice. Additionally, you will contribute to business development by promoting ADAS and developing client relationships through meetings, events, and media activities.

Experience
A minimum of 3 years relevant, practical post-graduate experience in agriculture is required. Proven track record in providing agricultural consultancy advice to landowners or practical farming experience is essential.
About you
You will have a broad understanding of sustainable farming practices that protect the environment, with knowledge of agricultural soils, nutrients, livestock and/or arable production, farm business management, farm infrastructure, and land management. You must be versatile, flexible in the range of work undertaken, and able to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. A full UK driving licence and access to own transport are required, along with the ability to travel away from your home base when necessary.
Qualifications
Agricultural or Environmental degree is required. Industry-recognised qualifications such as FACTS, BASIS Crop Protection, or BASIS Soil & Water are preferable but training will be provided if not held. Competent user of Microsoft software including Windows, Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is essential.
