About the Role

We are looking for a driven, creative communications professional passionate about the environment to join our ECO team as an Area Education Communications and Outreach Manager. This role involves managing and developing communication and service projects for waste and recycling management contracts across South London. Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager and part of the regional senior leadership team, you will lead strategic communication plans, manage budgets, and support community engagement to inspire positive environmental change. You will also mentor and coach communications and education officers, embed company culture, and ensure compliance with health and safety policies. Experience
- Significant corporate media experience handling press enquiries
- Proven track record of achieving coverage in local and regional publications
- Experience translating content and key messages across multiple channels
- Understanding of social media, social advertising and digital communications
- Experience delivering behaviour change communications
- Community engagement techniques and analysing results
- Strong stakeholder relationship building and customer management
- Project development and management
- People and relationship management skills including performance management and delegation

About you
Passionate about communications and the environment, with strong leadership and project management skills. Able to mentor and coach teams, embed company culture, and work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders. Flexible and adaptable to hybrid working and travel requirements.

Qualifications
- Desirable: Industry knowledge of recycling and waste management operations and practices
- Understanding of working with local authorities
- Experience in visual and textual content production across multiple formats
- Advanced understanding of data management and analysis
- Full clean UK driving licence (beneficial due to travel requirements)
