About the Role
When you see the world as we do, you see the chance to help the world take better care of its resources and help it become a better place for everyone. We're looking for someone committed to pushing for genuine change and bringing our ambition of Ecological Transformation to life. At Veolia, everyone helps work alongside communities, look after the environment, and contribute to an inclusive culture.
In this role, you will manage members of the design team, overseeing sick pay, holidays, and disciplinary matters. You will conduct performance reviews, set targets, and hold daily or weekly meetings to monitor progress on projects and tasks. Planning ahead to meet design deadlines is essential, as is utilizing the team effectively to achieve the best outcomes.
You will provide technical advice and guidance on designs and specialist IT programmes, primarily Autodesk products. Reviewing drawings from clients or consultants for acceptance or comment will be part of your responsibilities. Regular communication with operations and project managers will keep everyone updated on design status. You will report urgent matters relating to designs and construction to the Head of District Heating Operations.
Client engagement is key: you will meet regularly to discuss their needs, update them on design progress, and incorporate feedback to adjust designs as necessary due to site constraints or time restrictions. Designs must aim to minimize waste and include local suppliers for materials where possible.
Veolia offers 25 days of annual leave, access to a company pension scheme, discounts on groceries and retailers, resources supporting physical, mental, and financial health, one paid day leave annually to volunteer, and ongoing training and development opportunities to help you reach your full potential.
