About the Role
Are you an experienced pensions professional ready to lead exciting projects and drive continuous improvement for an organisation committed to Ecological Transformation? At Veolia, we believe in helping the world take better care of its resources and creating a better place for everyone. We are looking for a Pensions Technical Lead to be our senior subject matter expert across a diverse portfolio of pension arrangements.
In this role, you will lead the technical charge by serving as the expert on DB, DC Master Trust, and LGPS schemes, resolving complex member queries, leading investigations into complaints and IDRPs, interpreting scheme rules, trust deeds, and regulatory requirements with precision. You will keep ahead of legislative changes and ensure compliance across all schemes.
You will build strong relationships by working closely with Trustees, actuaries, administrators, and legal advisers. Mentoring and developing junior team members, sharing your expertise, and acting as the escalation point for complex queries across the business will be key responsibilities.
Additionally, you will drive strategic projects by leading technical workstreams for scheme closures, mergers, and benefit changes, supporting actuarial valuations and funding strategies. You will champion process improvements and automation opportunities, and develop technical procedures, guidance notes, and training materials.
Veolia offers a supportive and inclusive culture where you can grow your career while contributing to ecological transformation and community wellbeing.
Experience
Deep technical knowledge of pensions governance and regulations, with experience supporting Trustee and Company technical requirements. Proven project management skills and intermediate proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets. Experience working with DB, DC Master Trust, and LGPS schemes is essential.
About you
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities. An agile team player who can manage multiple priorities effectively. Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills. A strategic thinker who leads by example, with tenacity and attention to detail. A natural mentor who enjoys sharing knowledge and developing others.
Qualifications
Desirable qualifications include a graduate degree, PMI, RPC, QPA, or PMI Trustee Certificate. Experience with PensionsPal or Workday and completion of the TPR Trustee Toolkit are advantageous.
