About the Role
Our Major Projects & Infrastructure team delivers diverse and high-impact projects across multiple sectors in Project, Programme and Portfolio Management. We are seeking an Associate to lead business growth and maintain our world-class service standards within the aviation infrastructure sector. This role offers the opportunity to guide high-profile commissions and teams, working alongside top-tier clients, consultants, and contractors, while collaborating closely with senior leadership.

The Associate will lead projects across the aviation space, managing the project through the entire or part of the Project Lifecycle. Responsibilities include supporting the G&T Partner in commission management, fee forecasting, and resource management. The Associate is accountable for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to specification, ensuring all project goals and objectives align with the employer’s requirements and the corporate strategic intent.

Key responsibilities include:
- Working closely with Senior Associates or Partners to deliver successful project outcomes
- Leading teams through design, procurement, construction, delivery, and handover phases
- Delivering projects to defined cost, schedule, and quality requirements
- Leading lessons learned activities and embedding outcomes into future projects
- Coordinating with cross-functional teams including engineers, contractors, stakeholders, and other professionals
- Fostering strong client and professional team relationships
- Maximizing service delivery opportunities through performance and relationship management
- Collaborating with Cost Managers to optimize commercial outcomes
- Delegating tasks effectively and monitoring team performance
- Monitoring project progress, identifying and mitigating risks
- Managing project resources including personnel, equipment, and materials
- Preparing and presenting project reports and documentation
- Defining Employers Requirements with clients to ensure alignment with expectations
- Administering contracts (JCT & NEC), ensuring compliance and managing changes or disputes
- Applying general contract administration skills including document preparation, performance management, and obligation fulfillment
- Understanding critical success factors across project lifecycle stages
- Developing knowledge of industry challenges such as modern construction methods, ESG agendas, and pre-manufacture value
- Enhancing communication skills for clear internal and external engagement
- Utilizing and improving best practice tools and technology to support service delivery
- Promoting professional development of junior staff through guidance and knowledge sharing
- Engaging with colleagues and networks to develop new project leads
- Assisting with fee proposals and bids

Requirements

Experience
- Strong experience leading high-value infrastructure projects (£10m+) in live operational environments, preferably within the aviation sector
- Proven track record of successful project delivery and leadership
- Experience working on multiple projects with diverse clients and consultant teams
- Proficiency with industry contracts such as JCT & NEC, including contract administration and negotiations
- Demonstrable leadership skills managing teams to achieve positive client outcomes
- Strong stakeholder management and client relationship skills
- Business development experience with the ability to leverage networks to generate new opportunities

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
- Professional accreditation such as RICS, CIOB, APM or equivalent preferred
