Role Overview
We are recruiting for a Bricklaying Apprentice opportunity based at Project Aleph in Westminster. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to begin or continue their construction career while gaining hands on experience on site and working towards a recognised qualification.
Successful candidates will attend college one day per week to complete a 2 year NVQ Level 2 Bricklaying course and will be based on site for the rest of the week. The role will involve supporting experienced bricklayers with a range of practical site duties and learning core bricklaying skills in a live construction environment.
Important Eligibility Information
This role is subject to Westminster Section 106 eligibility requirements. Applicants must live in Westminster to be considered.
A valid CSCS card is required for this role.
Candidates must also have some prior construction experience. This is essential.
What You’ll Do
• Support bricklayers with day to day site tasks
• Carry and move materials around site
• Help with tidying and maintaining the site
• Mix mortar
• Cut blocks once trained
• Carry out ad hoc tasks to support bricklayers
• Learn practical bricklaying skills on a live construction site
What We’re Looking For
• Some construction experience is essential
• Valid CSCS card is essential
• Interest in bricklaying and construction
• Willingness to learn and take instruction from experienced tradespeople
• Good attitude and reliability
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Able to carry out physically demanding work including heavy lifting
• Commitment to completing the apprenticeship and college element
• Pay: National Living Wage
• Hours: To be confirmed
• Working hours: 7:00am to 4:30pm
• Location: Westminster
• Start Date: To be confirmed
• Training: 2 year NVQ Level 2 Bricklaying course with one day per week at college
