Role Overview
This is a varied and hands-on role supporting the smooth day-to-day running of our yard operations and site activities. The position involves a combination of driving duties, yard organisation, and general labouring tasks to ensure our operations run efficiently and safely.
The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing, loading, and delivering materials, equipment, and vehicles to and from sites as required. You will also assist with maintaining a tidy, organised, and safe yard environment, supporting colleagues with general operational tasks and ensuring all equipment is stored, handled, and maintained correctly.
This role requires a proactive and reliable individual who is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. A strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and a willingness to assist with a range of duties will be essential in helping maintain high operational and safety standards across the business.
Salary Range: £25,000-35,000 per year
Key Responsibilities
Deliver roofing materials, tools, and equipment to various sites in a safe and timely manner
Load and unload company vehicles, ensuring materials are secure and protected
Carry out general warehouse and yard duties
Maintain the yard area to ensure it remains safe, clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards
Assist with stock control, including stock taking and inspecting tools and equipment
Support site teams with general labouring duties as required
Conduct basic vehicle checks and report any defects or issues promptly
Follow all company health and safety procedures at all times
Provide general operational support as directed by management
This role requires a proactive attitude and a willingness to assist across different areas of the business when needed.
Essential Requirements
Business hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm. Flexibility required for occasional earlier starts to meet business and site requirements.
Full, valid UK driving licence
Good understanding of safe loading and unloading practices
Ability to carry out manual handling tasks
Strong awareness of health and safety practices
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Good communication skills
Positive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude
Desirable
Previous experience in a similar driving, warehouse, yard, or construction labouring role
Basic knowledge of construction or roofing materials
Experience with stock control processes
