Description

Hours

Salary
£43,110 to £52,000 per annum, depending on experience and skills.

About the Role
We are seeking a Change Project Manager to deliver improvements within our growing Renewals and Logistics business unit, providing people, resource, and specialist services to our Operations colleagues. Known internally as an Operational Improvement Lead, this is not a traditional project management role; you will drive, shape, and deliver projects using your insight, creativity, and stakeholder management skills. You will steer projects through discovery to develop operating models and processes, manage pilots, and implement delivery plans.
Working closely with the wider team, you will provide support as needed, broaden your knowledge of waste sewerage and clean water operations, and enjoy a varied and exciting career at Thames Water while making a genuine difference to communities, customers, colleagues, and the environment.

Key responsibilities include managing the development and delivery of projects that improve existing services and operations or create new services, reviewing and implementing future-proof operating models and processes, driving successful deployment of project outcomes through strong leadership, capturing and communicating benefits, leading change with visible high-performance behaviours, engaging and managing stakeholders at all levels, and embedding change with a smooth handover to business-as-usual operations.

This hybrid role requires flexibility to meet project deliverables across multiple locations and remote working where appropriate.

Requirements

Experience
Previous experience managing projects and/or change management. Certification in Prince 2, APM, Agile, Lean, or similar is desirable but not essential. Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

About you
Strong planning skills and self-management capability. Willingness to get ‘stuck in’ and become a temporary subject matter expert to lead with authority. Competent user of MS Office and Project software. Ability and willingness to travel across the Thames Water estate to meet project obligations. Access to a car and a valid driver’s licence is beneficial but not mandatory; public transport can be used where feasible.

Qualifications
No specific qualifications are mandatory, though relevant project management certifications are advantageous.
