About the Role
As the Depot Manager, you will provide first-class leadership to deliver a high-tempo, resilient inventory capability across the entire Thames Water region. Drawing on your extensive experience in scheduling, transport, delivery operations, and warehouse stock control, you will ensure stock integrity, availability, and accuracy to fully support operational delivery. You will be accountable for ensuring operational teams receive the right fittings, equipment, and materials at the right time, enabling work to be completed safely, efficiently, and first time. This includes providing robust and reliable delivery commitments to the business by coordinating the timely supply of barriers and SLG ancillaries, aligned to work programmes, while also enabling effective plant deployment and asset recovery.
You will provide leadership and direction to the Inventory Operations and Driving teams, ensuring equipment and critical stores are received, delivered, and collected on time, meeting quality objectives and delivery deadlines. You will maintain real-time visibility of equipment and critical stores holdings through SAP accounting and active stocktaking. Compliance with all transport legislation, including Driver’s Regulations & Working Time Directive, O license legislation, and company procedures, is essential.
Additional responsibilities include managing budgets, maintaining statistical and financial records, resource and transport planning through task scheduling and delivery programmes, and working with the Logistics Operating team to maintain the Out of Hours call rota to ensure assets and inventory are available 24/7, 365 days a year. You will effectively manage Performance Indicators across all workstreams, including site output, driving times, stock integrity, and Inventory Performance outputs. Ensuring Health & Safety requirements are met within company and legal frameworks is a key part of the role.
