About the Role
Step into a role where your data skills shape decisions that impact millions. As a Data Analyst at Thames Water, you will dive into new tools, smarter technologies, and fresh ways of working to tackle today’s challenges and prepare for tomorrow. You will work with large data sets drawn from a wide variety of internal and external sources, including environmental data, survey feedback, and operational data. Your responsibilities will include designing and interrogating databases, carrying out data transformations, and liaising with the business to improve ways of working. You will support the business and collaborate with stakeholders to design, build, and maintain a range of reports, becoming a key point of contact to further our objectives and inform operational decisions. Maintaining data quality and ensuring data security in line with GDPR is essential. You will bridge the gap between the business and data, using analytical thinking to solve business problems and generate value, presenting clear insights and engaging presentations.

Experience
- Experience working with large datasets, databases, or reporting, or a strong understanding of operational data.
- Experience with query languages such as TSQL or ANSI SQL.
- Experience with dashboarding software like Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience using analytical skills in a business setting and confidence working with stakeholders.

Qualifications
- A degree or equivalent experience in an analytical subject such as Science, Maths, or Geography is an advantage but not essential.
- Experience with scripting languages like Python or R is an advantage.
- Familiarity with tools such as R, Business Objects, Microsoft Azure services, or Microsoft Office is helpful.
