As an Ecologist, you will work on projects that make a real difference to our environment and communities by enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of water and wastewater treatment systems. Your role will include engaging in projects covering all phases of the life cycle, from initial design to implementation, allowing you to influence scheme design, enhancements, and promote best practices.
You will embrace advancements in delivering Net Benefits to Biodiversity, integrating these into client advice and collaborating with clients to develop their strategies. The role offers a diverse range of projects and tasks to challenge you and help you reach your full potential, maximising your opportunities and training.
Collaboration is key, working alongside ecologists of varying experience levels and environmental and engineering colleagues, both on-site and in the office. You will use and promote integrated solutions and innovative technology while ensuring quality and helping build a lasting, sustainable environmental business.
MMB has been named a partner on a new AMP8 framework with United Utilities, responsible for over £3bn of major infrastructure in the North West of England. This includes upgrades to wastewater treatment works and reducing storm overflows through the largest spill reduction programme in the UK, protecting more than 500km of rivers and bathing waters.
Experience
- Knowledge, understanding and experience of applying relevant guidance for ecological surveys
- Report writing experience
- Knowledge of assessing and implementing biodiversity net gain
- Protected species licence or working towards one
About you
- Degree in Ecology or a directly related subject
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Enthusiastic about environmental sustainability and delivering high-quality outcomes
