About the Role
Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) is a fully integrated design and build business combining the design expertise of Mott MacDonald with the contracting experience of JN Bentley to deliver award-winning projects. Working for MMB, you will be involved in major water and wastewater schemes throughout all phases of the project lifecycle, from feasibility through to construction. With an annual turnover exceeding £500 million, MMB is a leader in the industry and has recently extended its contract with Thames Water for an additional five years, securing work through to March 2030.

MMB delivers a varied programme of water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects across the Thames Valley and London region, improving networks that make a real difference to the environment and communities. You will work on projects that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of water and wastewater treatment systems.

As an Ecologist, you will engage in projects covering all phases from initial design to implementation, influencing scheme design and promoting best practices. You will embrace advancements in delivering Net Benefits to Biodiversity, integrating these into client advice and collaborating on strategy development. The role offers a diverse range of projects and tasks to challenge and develop your skills, working alongside ecologists of varying experience and environmental and engineering colleagues both on-site and in the office.

You will use and promote integrated solutions and innovative technology, ensuring quality and helping to build a sustainable environmental business. This role is employed by Mott MacDonald but involves collaboration across the joint venture with JN Bentley.

Requirements

Experience
- Knowledge, understanding, and experience applying relevant guidance for ecological surveys
- Report writing experience
- Experience assessing and implementing biodiversity net gain
- Protected species licence or working towards one

About you
- Degree in Ecology or a directly related subject
- Valid driving licence with willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
- Enthusiastic about working on diverse projects that positively impact the environment and communities
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications
- Degree in Ecology or a closely related field
- Protected species licence or actively working towards obtaining one
